Mutant/mutation
The mutant lacks expression of PB001101.03.0.

Protein (function)
Unknown. The protein was detected in a proteome analysis of P. falciparum oocysts and sporozoites and was present in salivary-gland sporozoites and not detected in oocyst-derived sporozoites. It contains a signal peptide, a GPI-anchor sequence and a transmembrane region.

Phenotype
The phenotype has not been analysed in detail and the mutants have not been cloned after transfection. Sporozoite production was not significantly different from wild type and sporozoites were infectious to C57BL/6 mice.
